Volunteer
Please join the nasher-volunteers e-mail listserv to receive updates on volunteer opportunities. Simply send an e-mail to sympa@duke.edu with "subscribe nasher-volunteers" in the body (not the subject) of the e-mail (without the quotation marks).
Volunteer requests will be handled exclusively via e-mail.
Volunteer opportunities are open to those 16 years old and older.
If you are interested in volunteering in the Nasher Museum Store please contact store manager, Beth Peloquin, directly at beth.peloquin@duke.edu. Beth is looking for general retail help in 2-5 hour shifts.
Other volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Helping children with craft projects during Family Days
- Representing the museum at local festivals and fairs
- Stuffing envelopes
- Data Entry
- Miscellaneous office support
- Special event support
When volunteers are needed, announcements will be made via e-mail through the listserv and you will be asked to directly contact the appropriate staff member.
A long-term and time-intensive volunteer opportunity is to apply to become a docent (volunteer tour guide). We will accept applications to the program in summer 2009, to begin training in fall 2009. Being a docent involves a minimum two-year time commitment and attendance at weekly training sessions (which you may attend on Monday mornings or Thursday evenings.) If you are interested in becoming a docent, please provide Juline Chevalier (juline.chevalier@duke.edu) with your phone number and USPS mailing address.
